On Thursday, May 9th, the OLA community came together for a Family STEM Night The event was sponsored by the Parent Reaching Out Grant received by our Catholic School Council.
All families in attendance had an opportunity to discover what STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities are and why they are important. Students explored alongside their parents and it was a great night of learning and discovery.

STEM Challenge (all ages)
Put your engineer hat on as you participate in an exciting design challenge! Come up with an idea, create a plan, and get hands on as you build and test your design in the infamous Catapult Challenge!

Video Game Design (all ages)
Why just play video games when you can make your own? Participants will get to explore what it means to be a video game designer in this hands-on workshop! Using the Bloxels app, participants will work on designing their first ever video game.

Junior Robotics (Ages 4-7)
Get hands-on in the world of robotics as you complete exciting missions and challenges. Explore the BeeBot and Dash n Dot robots as you learn the language of coding!

Get hands-on in the world of robotics as you complete exciting missions and challenges. Explore the Sphero and Ozobot robots as you learn the language of coding!
