This coming week, November 14th-18th is Bullying Prevention and Intervention Week. The theme this year is “Stand Up” (to bullying)! We believe in prevention through education and awareness so throughout the week, students will take part in several activities and presentations both in their classroom and as a whole school. Daily bullying awareness announcements will be made after prayers by our Student Council members. Teachers will spend time on bullying prevention discussions and/or activities.
On Tuesday, November 15th to Friday, November 18th all students from JK – Grade 8 will participate in X Movement. X Movement provides an in-school physical activity and mindfulness program that builds life skills and helps to create a positive school climate. Through top dance hits, imaginative storylines, playful characters and explorative dance experiences from cultures around the world, students will be encouraged to celebrate diversity and the “Xtra Awesome” parts of themselves and each other. Jk/Sk students will participate in two 30 minute sessions and students in Grades 1-8 will participate in four 45 minute sessions.
Then, on Thursday, November 17th from 7:00pm-8:00pm, all parents/guardians are invited to attend a Parent Engagement evening with their children sponsored by our Catholic School Council. I encourage moms and dads to join students for an hour of great fun, movement, mindfulness and mateship It will be a lot of fun and it’s a great way for you to be involved.
I hope to see you on Thursday evening!
